Taylor Swift’s History Of Being A ‘Golden Girl’

Her new album--and her lipstick!--may be titled Red, but when it comes to dressing for awards shows, Taylor Swift favors a much more neutral palette. Namely, glowing champagne gold. The 22-year-old is a seasoned veteran to getting all dressed up by now, so it's safe to say she knows what she likes...and isn't afraid to wear it, again and again.

Proof positive: Here's a few of her similarly shimmery looks sported over 2011 and 2012. Which one do you like best?
Our favorite of the bunch is the gown Swift rocked at MTV's 2012 European Music Awards on Sunday. The combination of geometric beading, cutouts, and form-fitting tailoring made for a modern, subtly sexy, and stunning presentation--which apparently brought Swift luck, as she took three of the five awards she was nominated for. Her makeup looks awesome, as well!
Swift experimented with vivid accents of red on her favorite neutral background at the Country Music Association Awards in November. The splashes of color were a nod to her newly released album; but alas, she did not score any awards that night
Here's one more gilded gown to examine: Swift at last year's Billboard Awards, which took place in May 2011. This strapless number looks somewhat similar to the AMAs gown, and brought similar good vibes. Swift added three awards to her collection at this event.
Of course, as fans know, Swift doesn't always wear champagne gold dresses. She has rocked everything from white to solid crimson on the red carpet over her career. At any rate--whatever shade she chooses to don, she's a solid-gold winner.
