ISLAMABAD
- Senator Faisal Raza Aabdi on Friday said he would commit suicide if
the Supreme Judicial Council did not take action against Chief Justice
Iftikhar Chaudhry.
Abidi said he would kill himself outside the Chief Justice’s house on November 9
in protest and his murder case should be registered against Dr Arsalan
Iftikhar and Chief Justice Iftikhar Chaudhry and his body should be
placed outside the Supreme Court of Pakistan and should not to be
removed until the people get justice from Iftikhar Chaudhry.
“Nobody from Pakistan People’s Party should participate in my funeral,” he added.
Abidi said in 2005, Chief Justice Iftikhar Chaudhry himself gave power
to the Supreme Judicial Council under notice 113/05 empowering it to
take action against any judge.
He noted that Article 209 allowed any person to take legal action against any judge.
The PPP firebrand said his case had reached the Supreme Judicial Council
and that ‘his chief justice’ was Justice Tassaduq Hussain Jilani.
He added that he had fought a legal battle abiding by the law and the
constitution, and if he did not get justice, he would take the path of
violence.
